University Auditorium was once known as the Memorial Auditorium and is now often referred to as the University of Florida Auditorium. It was built in the early 1920’s in the Collegiate Gothic style, with a decorated vaulted ceiling, large arched windows, and spires and gargoyles. University Auditorium’s Century Tower was added in 1953 in commemoration of the University of Florida’s centennial. The Auditorium was expanded and restored in 1977.

University Auditorium is part of the University of Florida Campus Historic District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Anderson Memorial Organ was donated to University Auditorium in 1925. It was later improved and expanded with a five manual console and additional pipes, making it one of the largest and most versatile organs in the United States.
